I think it is safe to say that millennia’s have more than just a basic grasp of navigation around iOS and Android phones and other mobile devices. Console manufacturer PreSonus introduced the Q-Mix several years ago and led the pack with iOS-controlled mixing and personal monitor mixing. Now Yamaha has introduced MonitorMix for Android. Just as the name implies, MonitorMix allows a musician to use their Android device to control the mix from the stage. Check out the official Yamaha Press release below.
Buena Park, CA (October 12, 2016)—Yamaha Corporation Japan has announced the release of the “MonitorMix” application for Android. MonitorMix for Android is now available via free download from Google Play.
The application, designed for Yamaha CL Series, QL Series, and TF Series consoles, allows individual wireless monitor mixing, allowing up to 10 iOS and Android devices simultaneously.
The app gives performers simplified control over their assigned monitor buses. Personal Group settings allow adjustment—e.g., all instrument levels on just one fader, among others.
“With the release of “MonitorMix” for Android, we are able to expand our customers’ experiences with a wider range of wireless devices,” states Marc Lopez, director of marketing for CA products, Yamaha Professional Audio. “We are delighted to meet the needs of our customers by expanding this App to Android users.”
